ELSPETH TAYLORCoaching

Hi, I'm Elspeth.

I've always been curious about people, ideas and what's possible.

Creativity. Innovation. Strategy.

For most of my career, I've worked in creativity, innovation and strategy — helping people and businesses understand where they are, imagine what could be different and work out how to get there. It taught me to listen deeply, ask better questions, spot patterns, challenge assumptions, reframe problems, see possibilities and turn thinking into action.

It turns out that's not a million miles away from coaching.

I've always been a work in progress too

Racketball coach. Multiple national racketball champion. International-level padel player. Entrepreneur. Budding writer. Painter. Strategist. Coach. Lake District girl. Dog lover. Curious. Adventurous. Interested in change and possibility.

Some change you choose.
Some arrives anyway.

Change excites me. I also know it can be hard. I've come through significant difficulty in my own life — through relationships, family and financial circumstances. I don't think hard experiences automatically make someone a good coach. But mine have given me a deep respect for the fact that people are complicated, life can be hard, and moving forward isn't always a straight line.

I'm also navigating perimenopause myself, and watching friends, peers and colleagues meet their own versions of it. I've been surprised by how much of a transition it can be. Not simply the physical changes, but the impact on confidence, energy, motivation, identity, relationships, work and how you feel about yourself.

We talk a lot about the symptoms of menopause. Much less about the person experiencing them.

  • Who am I now?
  • Why don't I feel quite like myself?
  • Has my relationship with work, ambition, my body or sport changed?
  • What do I want from this part of my life?
  • What might be possible now?

Outside is where I reset

Lake District roots. Nature, mountains, water, walking, adventure, dogs and the people I love.

For all my enthusiasm for achievement, ideas, sport and what's next, connection is ultimately what matters most to me.

So, what kind of coach am I?

  • I'll listen.
  • I'll be curious.
  • I'll notice things.
  • I'll ask questions you may not have asked yourself.
  • I'll challenge you when that's useful.
  • I'll help you look at things differently.
  • I'll encourage experimentation rather than perfection.
  • I'll hold you accountable for the things you've decided matter.

You bring your life. I'll bring curiosity, challenge and possibility. We'll work out what comes next.
